🔍 Job Overview:
We’re looking for a Senior Salesforce Developer with 7+ years of experience in Salesforce application development, integration, and customization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on coder with strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently on end-to-end Salesforce implementations. This is a hybrid position at the New Jersey Department of Education (DOE), offering an exciting opportunity to work on critical systems for the public sector.
🧠 Key Responsibilities:
- Customize and extend Salesforce using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and Force.com APIs
- Integrate Salesforce with external systems via SOAP/REST, Bulk, and Metadata APIs
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable, efficient Salesforce solutions
- Participate in Agile sprints; contribute to story grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Design reports, dashboards, and workflows to meet business needs
- Collaborate with QA teams, business stakeholders, and other developers
- Support full software development lifecycle from requirement gathering to implementation
- Evaluate vendor tools and participate in architectural decisions
✅ Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years in application development with focus on Salesforce & object-oriented programming
- Salesforce declarative and configuration experience (Flows, Process Builder, etc.)
- Salesforce Developer/Admin Certification (Preferred)
- Expertise in Salesforce Web Service APIs: SOAP, REST, Metadata, and Bulk
- Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Struts, JSP, JavaScript
- Hands-on experience retrieving data from Oracle databases
- Experience creating Salesforce reports and dashboards
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Public Sector Foundation (PSF) is a plus
- Must be a problem-solver and independent thinker
