📌 Position Details:
- Role: Data Engineering (2 openings)
- Type: Contract to Hire (6+ Months)
- Location: Onsite – Houston, TX 77032 (
- Work Hours: 5 days onsite, can leave by 3 PM CT to avoid traffic
- Interview Mode: Video
- C2C Pay Rate: $60/hr
✅ Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of data engineering experience, including 1–2 years in a lead or mentorship role
- Strong hands-on skills in Python and PySpark
- Proficient with Azure Data Services (ADF, Synapse, etc.) and Databricks
- Experience with data governance, schema management, and data cataloging
- Skilled in Power BI or other BI/reporting tools
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with product or business stakeholders
🌟 Nice to Have:
- Product-led development experience
- Exposure to machine learning workflows, data science, or MLOps
- Background in statistics, analytics, or scientific computing
- Experience with CI/CD, IaC, Docker, or other DevOps practices
🎯 Key Responsibilities:
🚀 Team Leadership & Delivery:
- Lead a small team of 3–4 data engineers
- Manage project planning, task assignments, and timely delivery
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers
💡 Product Collaboration:
- Work closely with Product Managers to understand data needs
- Translate business requirements into data pipelines and products
🔧 Technical Execution:
- Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure tools
- Develop PySpark/Python-based data transformations in Databricks
- Perform exploratory data analysis and create dashboards
📊 Data Product Ownership:
- Maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards
- Ensure data discoverability and quality across the organization
🧠 Innovation & Strategy:
- Stay current on emerging data tech
- Contribute to long-term architectural and data strategy
