Role Overview
Peraton seeks a Senior Java Developer to support the EMMETT program. This next-generation Space Domain Awareness (SDA) system integrates cutting-edge technologies for satellite situational awareness, offering advanced data processing and distribution capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Java-based modules with techniques like event-driven programming and exception handling.
- Perform software analysis, architecture, engineering, and integration at system levels.
- Support systems implementation using industry-best practices.
- Create technical reports, white papers, and documentation of software engineering activities.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience (or 4 years additional experience in lieu of degree).
- Clearance: Top Secret, with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days.
- Proficiency in Java (Model, Entity, DTO, DAO).
- Experience with:
- Cloud architectures and containers (Docker).
- Unix-based operating systems like RedHat Enterprise Linux.
- Relational databases (PostgreSQL).
- Messaging tools (ActiveMQ, Camel Route).
- Web application basics (HTTP, REST, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Microservices, Kubernetes, and cluster management tools (e.g., AWS EKS, Rancher).
- AWS services (RDS, ElastiCache).
Preferred:
- Scripting experience with Python.
- Familiarity with web server configurations (NGINX, Apache).
- Experience with build/deploy tools like Jenkins and Ansible.
- Knowledge of Agile environments, physics, mathematics, or aerospace.
- Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification (or working toward certification).
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $135,000 – $216,000 (based on experience).
