Evon IT is actively seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer for a long-term C2C contract role in Houston, TX. This opportunity is perfect for engineers who have a strong background in data lakehouse architecture, Python, and modern cloud-native data tools.
📍 Location: Houston, TX (Onsite Preferred)
💼 Type: Contract – C2C
🧠 Experience: 12+ Years in Software/Data Engineering
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop modern data lakehouse pipelines using Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake
- Build and optimize ELT workflows using DBT and Python
- Work with stakeholders to define and deliver data models that support reporting and analytics needs
- Integrate and manage data using AWS S3, Dremio, and Dash
- Orchestrate and monitor pipelines in Kubernetes (EKS) environments
- Ensure scalability, performance tuning, and security of data solutions
✅ Required Skills & Tech Stack:
- Strong Python & SQL – data transformation, scripting, automation
- DBT (Data Build Tool) – advanced data modeling and transformation
- Apache Iceberg / Delta Lake – data lakehouse architecture and performance tuning
- AWS Services: S3, EKS, Lambda, Glue (preferred)
- Dremio & Dash – for fast query engines and dashboards
- Kubernetes – container orchestration for cloud-native pipelines
- Data Modeling & Architecture – dimensional and star schema design
🎯 Ideal Candidate:
- 12+ years of total experience in software/data engineering
- Proven experience in modern data stack, especially lakehouse solutions
- Strong cloud expertise with AWS and distributed data systems
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Able to work independently and drive architecture decisions
