About the Role
The Family Medicine unit (Francis 2C) is a 16-bed medical unit that provides care for patients on the Family Medicine Service, where medical patients present with a variety of acute or chronic health problems. The schedule is full time at 48–72 hours per pay period, with variable day, evening and night shifts of 8 and 12 hours and a variable weekend schedule. New graduate nurses apply through Mayo Clinic’s Nurse Residency Program posting.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate nursing care for patients on the Family Medicine Service, including direct patient care
- Care for medical patients with a variety of acute and chronic health problems on the 16-bed Francis 2C unit
- Work variable day, evening and night shifts (8 and 12 hours) with a variable weekend schedule
Requirements
Applicants must be graduates of a nursing program recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). A current RN license meeting applicable state requirements and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification valid for 90 days past the start date must be obtained prior to the start date. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), experience working in a team environment and computer skills are also listed.
