Cleveland Clinic is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for Orthopedics at its Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, OH (Job Code C15016, Req# 332788). Medical Assistants in this ambulatory role handle a mix of clinical and administrative duties, from taking medical histories and explaining procedures to patients, to collecting and preparing specimens for the lab.
About the Role
This full-time role sits in the Internal Medicine-Ambulatory Operations department (Nursing Patient Support) and supports orthopedic care at Lutheran Hospital. A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm, working alongside passionate and dedicated caregivers in a world-class patient care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health complaints and current care
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition
- Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas
- Perform administrative and clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and processing patient registration
Requirements
Candidates must be graduates of an approved Medical Assisting Program, or have military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM) or equivalent, and must have completed a clinical externship or have extensive clinical experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross is required. Preferred qualifications include Medical Assisting (MA) certification and successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship.
