Mayo Clinic is hiring a Registered Nurse for its GI Endoscopy Intake/Recovery practice in Rochester, Minnesota. The schedule is Monday through Friday, day shifts of 8 hours, 64 hours per pay period, with no weekends.
About the Role
The Ambulatory Care RN works in the GI Endoscopy practice on Alfred 6, caring for adult patients. In Intake, the nurse completes a focused history and assessment, provides patient education, and reviews medications and allergies before endoscopy. In Recovery, the nurse provides post-anesthesia monitoring until patients meet discharge criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete focused patient history and assessment in the intake area
- Provide patient education and review medications and allergies before endoscopy procedures
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery monitoring until discharge criteria are met
- Interpret ECG rhythms and obtain ACLS certification within the first 3–6 months
Requirements
Mayo Clinic requires 1 year of RN experience, graduation from a baccalaureate nursing program accredited by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA, a current RN license, and BLS certification valid for 90 days after the start date. ICU/PCU, ER, PACU, or ECG experience is preferred, and a BSN is preferred.
