About the Role
The Class A Delivery Driver works for Sysco’s SYGMA operation in Houston, TX. Drivers safely transport product from the warehouse to customer locations and ensure product is delivered in excellent condition, following company standards and food-safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport product by tractor-trailer from the warehouse to customer locations
- Unload product from the trailer by hand or using a hand cart, per invoices and company standards
- Pick up, load and unload damaged goods and customer returns and transport products back to the warehouse
- Complete all paperwork according to company and governmental guidelines, including DOT logs and pre-trip and post-trip reports
- Ensure all food safety protocols are met according to established guidelines
- Work an overnight schedule including weekends and holidays as needed to meet customer needs
Requirements
A high school diploma, GED or equivalent is required; one year of tractor-trailer driving experience is preferred, or completion of a driving school program. A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License is required, and drivers must be insurable to operate a vehicle. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing or pulling up to 350 lbs with a hand cart.
